Rudy Probst was a husky center for Syracuse basketball for two seasons. He was an occasional starter his freshman season, and a reserve his junior year.
Probst was more known as a tackle on the Syracuse football team, playing on both the offensive and defensive lines. Probst would receive four letters for varsity football.
Probst was an assistant coach for one season for Syracuse, as the line coach in 1914. He would play two years of professional football. In 1917 he would play in both games for Fort Niagara, as the team played as it went 2-0. He would play 1 more game for Niagara in 1918.
