Quadir Copeland was a guard for Syracuse basketball for two seasons. He was known for his hustle, and multi-faceted game.

Quadir Copeland Syracuse BasketballCopeland was part of the bench rotation his freshman year. Though naturally a guard, he played primarily at forward to help support that position. Copeland was often brought in to speed up the defensive tempo, and played with a lot of hustle. He demonstrated some creative playmaking at times but was also a bit too careless with the ball. He did not play in all the ACC games, but found his playing time increasing the last few games of the season. He had a season high 10 points in a home loss to Pitt.

Copeland turned into a crowd favorite his sophomore with the high energy and exuberance he brought off the bench, along with his flashy playmaking, as well as his timely defensive stops. He offset that by some careless unnecessary turnovers and poor perimeter shooting. Copeland hit a buzzer beater game winning shot against Miami on January 20th. His pressure defensive resulted in some timely forced turnovers and steals in the final few minutes to clinch the upset win over North Carolina. He would have a career high 25 points in a win over North Carolina State, 13 rebounds against New Hampshire, and 8 assists against Chaminade and Niagara.

Copeland transferred to McNeese State after his sophomore season.

Copeland moved into the starting lineup at McNeese State at the end of December. He would score a season high 21 points in January against Texas-Rio Grande Valley, but his biggest asset was as a play maker. Three times he had 10+ assists, though he was still turnover prone as he was at Syracuse. He had his best overall game of the season in the NCAA tournament where he helped the Cowboys upset Clemson with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. He was named to the 2025 All-Southland Second team.
