Dutch Notman played forward for three seasons for Syracuse University. He was a reserve with significant playing time his sophomore year. He was a starter his junior and senior seasons, and was the second leading scorer on the 1913-1914 undefeated Dutch Notman Syracuse Orangemen BasketballOrangemen squad. He would score 10 points in his last game, leading the team in scoring over Dartmouth securing their undefeated season.

Notman was the shortstop on the Syracuse baseball team.

Notman graduated from Syracuse in 1914. He served as a sergeant in the Army Artillery in 1918. He passed away in 1992 at the age of 100.
