Comments:

Syracuse dominated the first half of play. Colgate brought in substitutes Stewart and Bourne in the second half, and they outplayed the rest of the team. Berzoni hit a shot just before time expired to tie the game 26-26 and send it into overtime. Neither team scored in the first overtime, with the score staying at 26-26. In the second overtime Syracuse scored a field goal and made a foul shot, while Colgate made just a field goal, to make the score 29-28. There was heavy activity under the Syracuse basket as time was expiring. Colgate put up a shot as time expired, that bounced around and fell into the hoop, but the official ruled time had expired first. This would be the closest game of the year for Syracuse, and the last time any team threatened to them that season, as the Orangemen went 12-0.

Lew Castle would lead Syracuse with 15 points.
