Angelo 'Doc' Acocella was on the Syracuse basketball team for one season. He was a terrific athlete lettering in basketball one season, football four seasons, and baseball two.
Acocella played both guard and forward for Syracuse his freshman season. He was a starter for most of the season and was an aggressive player on the court.
Acocella was an End on the football team for four seasons, along with being the field goal kicker and a terrific kick returner. He was named captain of the football team his Sophomore season, and played in the East / West football game in San Francisco following that season.
He was an infielder in baseball, the starting shortstop his junior season, and a third baseman his senior season.
Acocella graduated from Syracuse in 1948.
