Swider transferred to Syracuse after his junior season.

Swider was going to be counted on to provide much needed perimeter shooting for the Orange, but he struggled early in the season to find his rhythm. He did provide the rebounding the team needed, leading the team over the course of the season and pulling down double digit rebounds eight times including a season high 14 against Wake Forest. Swider would eventually find his stride with his three point shooting stroke, and would lead the team in three point shooting percentage. He had a career high 36 points in the overtime loss to North Carolina on 7 of 11 three point shooting before he fouled out. He would have another big game against Florida State in the ACC tournament scoring 28 points with 13 rebounds in only 28 minutes.

Swider would go undrafted in the NBA draft, but would sign a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
