Judah Mintz is a guard for Syracuse basketball. Mintz was adept at beating his opponent off the ball and driving the lane. This also made him adept at drawing fouls.

Judah Mintz SyracuseMintz was the starting point guard beginning with his first game at Syracuse. He provided a bit of freshman flair that had been missing for quite a few seasons. Mintz struggled early in the season learning his responsibilities as a playmaker, and improved in that area as the year moved on. He was able to score in the paint quite often; he struggled with his perimeter shooting though it improved as the year progressed. He had a season high 10 assists in a victory over the Georgetown Hoyas. He scored a season high 24 points in a win over Monmouth, as well as the same in a home loss to Pittsburgh. Mintz would finish his freshman year second in scoring on the team, and led the team in assists, free throws, and steals. He was named to the All ACC Rookie team, as well as Honorable Mention All ACC. Mintz entered the NBA draft following the season, however, to the delight of Syracuse fans he withdrew shortly before the deadline to pursue another season with the Orange.

Mintz would have an outstanding sophomore season leading the Orange in scoring and assists. He was one of the best players in the country at drawing fouls which allowed him to take 264 free throw attempts. He scored a career high 33 points in a win over LSU. He had a spectular game in upsetting #8 North Carolina scoring 25 points on 8 of 11 shooting, and his play was terrific over the last eight games of the year. Mintz earned ACC 2nd Team honors that season.
