Clarence Houseknecht was one of the first leaders of the Syracuse basketball program. He played four years for the program, and was the captain his junior season 1904. He played both the guard and forward positions. He was awarded a letter his senior season, 1905.
Houseknecht also played for the football team, earning a letter his senior season.
