Peter Carey was a reserve center for Syracuse basketball for two seasons.

Peter Carey Syracuse BasketballCarey would see limited time early his freshman year due to recovery from knee issues he had in high school. His season would end in January when he had additional knee surgery.

Carey would start his sophomore season deep on the bench as a reserve, but as the season progressed injuries and suspensions to other players resulted in him being the primary back up to center. Even in that role he usually did not see much playing time. His best game of the season was against North Carolina State where he played 11 minutes against the Wolfpack's DJ Burns, while also pulling down 4 rebounds. A series of late season practice concussion and an illness contributed to him missing playing time.

Carey would transfer to Siena after his sophomore season, and would play for their new coach Gerry McNamara.
